Staging is a short engagement with a deadline and a buyer at the end of it. Design work has neither, which changes what the job is: instead of making a room legible to a stranger for six weeks, it makes a room work for the people who live in it for years.
The overlap is the part that transfers. Scale, sightlines, where the light falls, and what a room is actually used for are the same problems in both. Ten years of solving them for buyers is a reasonable qualification for solving them for you.

Is the cabinet painting before and after a staging project?
No, and it is labelled that way on this page. The kitchen shown went from yellow cabinets to grey with butcher block counters, which was a cabinet painting and refresh job rather than staging. Cricket on the Hearth shows it because it is real work, not because it is staging.
